Special Olympics!

As Martial artists, it’s not only our job to better ourselves and our training partners, but to better the entire community. This October 25th we have an amazing opportunity to give back to those who need our help. This year’s Special Olympics is hosted by Aegis Technologies at the Milton Frank stadium. We need all the volunteers available this year to help direct buses, distribute lunches, and any other activities to help the team.

There is no registration required, just simply come to the Milton Frank Stadium at 6:30 on October 23rd. All volunteers will be working directly under Sensei Daniel Whisenant or Chris Kramer. The Event will run till 2pm, and any help at any time of the day will help. If you own a Triad shirt, please bring it to show your support for the school. If you have any questions about this event, please call (256) 509 – 5201.

Teen Lock-in!

Join us for Annual Teen Night!

Triad Martial arts has recently adopted a new tradition. Once a year, a lock-in is held for the teen adult class, friends, family, and helpers for our summer camp. This event is the only party held at Triad with an age restriction, which starts at age thirteen. The tabs below will provide more info, to navigate, simply click the tab you are interested in reading.

Activities will include:

  • Dodge-ball
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Indoor Football
  • Competitions
  • ‘Minute to win it’ games
  • Prizes
  • Much More

As the nature of lock-ins, plan to stay up through the entirety of the night, but make sure to bring a sleeping bag or a blanket and a pillow. Guys will be sleeping on the mats area of the dojo, and ladies will be sleeping in the lounge.

Instructors and Adults will be there, supervising and enjoying the games themselves.

We never let our Teens go hungry. Pizza will be provide for all who attend, as well as drinks, breakfast, coffee runs, candy, snacks, and ‘Mapco runs’ on request.

If you have any allergies, make sure to inform our staff on sign-up. We do NOT allow any alcoholic drinks inside the facility under any circumstances.

Meals, drinks, and snacks are all included with the entrance fee.

In the past, this event was only open to those attending the Teen/Adult Karate and Jiu-Jitsu classes, however the event is now open to all dojos, friends, family, and non-Triad students. All attending non-Triad students will need a parent or legal guardian over the age of nineteen to sign a waiver at the door.

Sign-ups will soon be available from this page, but those wishing to pay at the door are free to bring cash. Price per person stands at $20 for the first attendee, and $15 for each additional attendee.

This event is not for profit, and was created by the Teens, for teens. All proceeds will go towards making the dojo and future teen-only events more enjoyable in the future.

The event will be held at the Madison dojo and start at 7:00pm on Friday August 3rd. It is not required to stay, but those who choose to do so will have an opportunity to train in the morning in no-gi and hopefully learn some Jiu-Jitsu. The lock-in ends a nine in the morning for those who prefer to not train, and we ask that any belongings and bed spreads be removed from the mats by then. Anyone who needs to stay for a bit longer due to timing purposes is allowed to do so, but we ask that everyone be out of the dojo by 1:30pm on Saturday.

Friday, August 3rd!
